- US pharmaceutical company Indivior launches new products for the treatment of addictive disorders on the German market
- The logistics service provider Movianto specialized on pharma and healthcare industry develops complete service for warehousing, distribution and fulfilment: from order to cash
- Temperature control at 2 to 8 and 15 to 25 degrees Celsius under the highest safety precautions
(Neunkirchen) In order to facilitate the introduction of new drugs for the treatment of addicts in Germany for its long-standing client Indivior, the service provider Movianto, which specialises in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors, developed an individual logistics solution over several months. It has now been implemented at the location in Neunkirchen in Saarland. For the first time, Movianto is enabling the US pharmaceutical company to store and distribute narcotics, which are subject to cold chain requirements and must therefore be stored and shipped at 2 to 8 degrees Celsius. At the same time, the logistics provider takes over the complete fulfilment with its “Order to Cash” service. “On behalf of Indivior our customer service team takes orders from wholesalers or pharmacies, initiates picking and shipping, issues the invoice and monitors receipt of payment,” says Dennis Spamer, Managing Director of Movianto Germany. “Instead of setting up all the value-added stages yourself, outsourcing of these services can significantly reduce time to market, especially for foreign companies.”
Movianto has already been working for Indivior for more than ten years, in Denmark and Spain in addition to Germany. So far, however, it has only taken over the logistics of articles that have to be stored in the room temperature range of 15 to 25 degrees Celsius. “The new products are subject to cold chain requirements. Moreover, like the other Indivior articles, they fall into the narcotics sector, for which particularly high safety and documentation standards apply”, explains Spamer. “That is why we have created storage facilities in the temperature range between 2 and 8 degrees Celsius in our narcotics warehouse in Neunkirchen with the help of special refrigerators.” Movianto employees are specially trained for the handling of all items to be stored in the validated refrigerators. “Every opening of a refrigerator, every filling and every removal must be documented.” The entire Movianto warehouse in Neunkirchen is video-monitored. The BTM area is additionally secured. Only certain employees have access. Like a huge safe, the entrances are secured with massive steel doors. The walls, which are up to half a meter thick, are equipped with vibration sensors that immediately transmit attempted break-ins to the police as a silent alarm.
