(Ginsheim/Gräfelfing) This month, the listed company PharmaSGP is transferring the warehousing, order picking and dispatch of selected branded products such as Spalt or Formigran to the logistics service provider Movianto, who specialises in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors. PharmaSGP, based in Gräfelfing near Munich, focuses on the development and distribution of non-prescription branded products. For quality assurance reasons, PharmaSGP has committed to full temperature control of the medicines it distributes.
“We are pleased that PharmaSGP has decided to work with us in the future, relying completely on active temperature control,” says Dennis Spamer, Managing Director of Movianto Germany. “Not only warehousing, but also dispatch to pharmacies and wholesalers is actively temperature-controlled at 15 to 25 degrees. This is still not standard for non-prescription OTC products.” According to Spamer, temperature control is playing an increasingly important role in the logistics of pharmaceuticals, but also increasingly of medical products. “We are experiencing steadily increasing demand for this and will further expand our capacity in this area next year.”
PharmaSGP is a leading consumer health company with a diversified portfolio of non-prescription OTC medicines and other health products marketed with a focus on the pharmacy distribution channel. The majority of the company’s medicines are based on natural active pharmaceutical ingredients with documented efficacy and few known side effects. The company’s core brands cover chronic indications, including rheumatic pain and nerve pain, as well as other age-related conditions. In Germany, PharmaSGP is the market leader in systemic, chemical-free analgesics with its RubaXX® family of brands for rheumatic pain and Restaxil® for neuralgic pain. In addition, PharmaSGP offers leading products for sexual weakness and vertigo. Since the launch of the first product from the current product portfolio in 2012, PharmaSGP has successfully established its business model in other European countries, including Austria, Italy, Belgium, Spain and France. In September 2021, the product portfolio was expanded to include the brands Baldriparan®, Formigran®, Spalt® and Kamol®, thus further expanding or developing the indication areas of pain and sleep disorders. In the 2021 financial year, PharmaSGP generated sales revenues of 65.3 million euros. www.pharmasgp.com
